Sunless Tanning?

I want to start tanning. Now, the question is whether to go to a salon and tan in a booth, or to get a sunless tan.

My main concern is to not look orange.

I heard that sunless tans should be mixed and sprayed by an actual person. Can a real person do it at any salon? Or do you need to go somewhere more specific so a person can mix your color?
